Research Coordinator I [United States]


 The department of Population and Public Health Sciences is in search of Research Coordinator I. A dependable, flexible, and detail-oriented individual is needed to join a research team at the University of Southern California to participate in the Community Health and Innovation Lab (CHIL). This lab is conducting community and clinic-based research to identify multi-level drivers of minority health and health disparities with a particular focus on stress exposure and responses among diverse populations, social determinants of health, and the development, evaluation, and implementation of sustainable evidence-based interventions in community and clinical settings.

Employment involves (1) maintaining contact with participants enrolled in observational and laboratory-based studies; (2) scheduling appointments for study visits and data collection; (3) collecting bio-specimens from study participants according to study protocols; (4) entering data into databases; (5) performing quality assurance and control activities; and (5) providing project support to the research study, study staff personnel, and faculty investigators.

Excellent English writing and speaking skills is required. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational capabilities, superb problem-solving skills, and a demonstrated ability to work independently while managing multiple tasks. Flexible working hours including evenings and weekends may be needed. Prior experience in a research environment is preferred. Bachelor’s degree in a health-related field is preferred.

The hourly rate range for this position is $29.98 - $32.10. When extending an offer of employment, the University of Southern California considers factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, federal, state, and local laws, contractual stipulations, grant funding, as well as external market and organizational considerations.

Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree, Combined experience/education as substitute for minimum education Minimum Experience: 1 year Minimum Field of Expertise: Administrative or research experience. Working knowledge of MS Office applications. Demonstrated effective communication and writing skills. Ability to multi-task and prioritize. Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team as well as independently.
