Department Summary
The Division of Graduate Studies is the administrative office with ultimate responsibility for policy and procedures relevant to graduate education and graduate students. Its programs and services affect nearly 3,500 graduate students and over 100 graduate degree programs. The Division of Graduate Studies’ core purpose is to promote graduate education by fostering excellence, innovation, and inclusive communities. Position Summary
As the Director of Systems you will provide Customer Relationship Management (CRM) leadership, supervision, direction, development, and support for the Division of Graduate Studies, resulting in improved efficiency, accuracy, and superior customer service while maintaining and optimizing technological solutions within the Division’s portfolio. You will be responsible to position the Division to best utilize the primary CRM system (Slate) and provide solutions to manage processes related to admissions and student tracking, internal/external reporting, and data analysis. You will serve as an advocate for the Division across campus, advocating for technology software/hardware solutions, data sharing, and staffing that result in the optimization of the Division’s CRM solution and needs.
In this role you will interface with campus partners such as Information Services, Student Services and Enrollment Management, academic colleges/programs, and administrative staff. In coordination with the Division’s leadership team, you will establish and enforce policies and procedures for each area of responsibility/supervision and define/set the direction for the CRM team.
Minimum Requirements
- Five years of experience in higher education administration/operations with demonstrated progressive responsibility
- Experience planning, designing, configuring, implementing, and maintaining customer relationship management systems
- Data management experience including data design, data migration & integration
- Supervisory experience
- Project management experience

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience managing the day-to-day operations of graduate admissions and/or graduate student support offices, with an understanding of student information from a “systems” approach
- An understanding of enrollment management in a university environment
- Experience collecting and refining business requirements, priority setting, expectations management, issue resolution, and work with technical teams to deliver solutions
- Accomplished in using technology to turn abstract plans into action
- Collaborative work style – internal, external, horizontally, and vertically
- At least two years of experience working in Slate and experience working in any of the following: Banner, OnBase, Office 365, Drupal, Cognos, TDNext, DuckWeb, GradWeb, Canvas, Qualtrics or similar administrative systems
- An understanding of security and privacy rules, laws, and compliance in a higher education institution
- Proven record of collaboration and successful staff/project management
