We are seeking a highly motivated Healthcare Customer Service Support Representative to join our team.

This job is 100% remote and out of state candidates will be considered.The purpose of the Healthcare Customer Service Support Representative is to elevate the University of Colorado patient experience by addressing questions and concerns mainly via phone but also includes fielding correspondence requests in a call center environment. The individual in this position will handle and bring resolution for up to 60 calls per day from callers including but not limited to patients, affiliate partners, payers, and healthcare providers. Interact in a positive, caring manner when communicating. Collect payments and/or offer and set-up payment arrangements on outstanding balances. Utilize analytical thinking for account research and reconciliation, update accounts with new or corrected information and request itemized statements or re-bill claims when appropriate. Explain medical bill and identify deductible, coinsurance, copays and other patient financial responsibility. Performs specialized tasks as assigned by the manager and/or supervisor.
Requires high school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 2 years’ healthcare experience, and 2 years of medical billing and direct patient contact in call center environment with exposure to insurance billing and medical terminology preferred . Must be technically proficient. Requires advanced verbal and written communication skills. Must possess strong interpersonal skills. Professional maturity and ability to exercise sound judgement are essential. Written/verbal fluency in both English and Spanish is strongly preferred.
