Position Salary Range: $5,298 - $7,946 per month
The maximum budget for this position is $6,300.
Salary is commensurate with experience.
About the Department/Position:
With an emphasis on quality and responsive service, the Office of Faculty Affairs & Development provides many of the Human Resources needs of the University’s academic personnel within the Division of Academic Affairs. Faculty Affairs & Development is responsible for many broad, academic-related programs and activities, which include full-time academic recruitment, full-time faculty evaluation processes, and various kinds of leaves of absence. With the Faculty (Unit 3) Collective Bargaining Agreement and different campus policies as governing authorities, Faculty Affairs and Development strives to meet the needs of the University’s faculty concerns while addressing the complex and sensitive matters that can, directly and indirectly, impact them.
Under the general direction of the Associate Vice President of Faculty Affairs, the Academic Personnel Analyst is responsible for full cycle recruitment for tenured/tenure-track faculty, lecturers, coaches and visiting faculty. The position will ensure a successful onboarding process and will connect newly hired faculty with the Faculty Development Center. The incumbent will work collaboratively with Deans, Department Chairs, and Academic Resources Managers to ensure a successful selection process is conducted. In addition, the Academic Personnel Analyst will work with Human Resources workforce team, to ensure faculty related transactions are processed in a timely manner. The incumbent will also work with the AVP to ensure grievances are collected, reviewed, and processed in a timely manner.
Overview of Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversee the process for full-time recruitments for tenured/tenure-track faculty, lecturers, coaches, and visiting faculty
- Create a successful onboarding process including drafting appointment letters
- Collaborate with the Office of Equity and Inclusion regarding recruitment plans and candidate pools. Monitor and run EEO reports for the review and approval of the Associate Vice President of Faculty Affairs and Development
- Provide collaboration and guidance to hiring authorities (Deans, Academic Resource Managers, Department Chairs, and Search Committees) ensuring recruitment compliance
- Serve as liaison with Human Resources and the Academic Resource Managers for faculty hiring ensuring paperwork is complete and discrepancies are addressed. Assist Human Resources with processing Faculty transactions for tenured/tenure-track in PeopleSoft.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree or professional training program specific to the position or a combination of education and experience which demonstrates the ability to perform the essential functions of the position.
- Directly related work experience or a combination of education and experience which demonstrates the ability to perform the essential functions of the position.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of the academic structure of a comprehensive university
- Thorough knowledge of office systems and ability to use a broader range of technology, systems and software packages, such as Microsoft Office (word, PowerPoint, excel, publisher, etc.), PeopleSoft, Blackboard, and other programs necessary to the operations of the office
- Knowledge of proper customer service-oriented techniques
- Ability to apply independently a wide variety of policies and procedures where specific guidelines may not exist
- Ability to effectively handle a broader range of interpersonal contacts, including those at a higher level and those sensitive in nature
- Skill in planning, organizing, coordinating and performing work in complex situations
